Description

Bruno's ideal home

Bruno is a 1 year old Pug X Jack Russell Terrier. He is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and could join a home with children of secondary school age who are used to dogs. Bruno is worried by other dogs and so will need a secure garden of his own for play and exercise while he continues his muzzle training to enable him to enjoy walks safely outside of the home. A family interested in training would be ideal to help him settle into his new home and learn the basics. Once settled, leaving hours could be introduced gradually.

Could you be Bruno's perfect match?

Bruno came into us after being found as a stray, he initially came in with another dog however was quite over the top with his play style and so had to be separated. He has found meeting other dogs at the centre challenging and can be worried which he shows by being vocal and reactive towards them. Due to this, he will need to be walked on lead and muzzled when in public. He has started his muzzle training and will need to continue this in the home. He will need a secure, decent size garden to exercise in until he is comfortable wearing his muzzle out and about. Bruno has been friendly with all the people he has met at the centre and is regularly walked by our volunteers who all adore him and say what a sweet boy he is. Bruno is still only young and can show his excitement with puppy like behaviours such as mouthing and would benefit from learning some alternative behaviours when excited. Bruno has so much potential and our training and behaviour team will be on hand to offer advise to help Bruno thrive in his new home.

Pug Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Pug.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
