Description

Bear's ideal home

Bear is looking for a calm and quiet home to settle into with adopters who are home lot of the time, who can take him on little leisurely walks, play with him and cuddle up on the sofa for a snuggle. He can live with children aged 16 years and over who understand when he needs space and will leave him to rest when needed. Bear is a little unsure around larger dogs, so could live with a smaller polite but playful dog, although this is not a necessity, he would be happy with calm and polite walking buddies who will give him space and let him approach on his own terms. He cannot live with cats or other small furries. Bear has some training under his belt, he knows his name and does a lovely “sit”, he would benefit from more fun training in short, sweet sessions, he can be enticed by treats, he will need a refresher on his house training so a private, secure garden is necessary. Bear can get worried being left alone so is looking for an adopter who is home the majority of the time, he could build up to being left for short periods of time, but this should be introduced once he has had time to get used to his new home and routine and ideally be after a walk so he can relax and have a long snooze! Bear takes medication daily and will need regular physio appointments, so please bear this in mind when applying. Bear will need to meet his adopters a few times. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Pug Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Pug.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
